The “View” from the 5th Dimension Through Silence

• Beliefs are distractions from Awareness •

Beliefs are commentaries of the mind, and this internal “noise” disturbs the aliveness and natural expression of awareness.

Be still for a moment. Stillness is the key to “viewing” as awareness itself — undisturbed by the noise of thought.

There are not many words we can add to explain it, for the great Masters have already pointed to its importance. If we truly wish to “view” from the dimension of pure awareness and non-duality, we must consider practicing stillness in our daily lives.

Below are a few words from great masters and authors on Silence and Stillness, offering a foundation for this practice in everyday life.

At the end of the page, you’ll find videos that highlight this realization and can help you establish a daily practice.

Buddha on Stilness

My doctrine is not a doctrine but just a vision.

Stop, stop. Do not speak. The ultimate truth is not even to think.

In the stillness of your mind, you will discover the Universe within.

Pantajali (Yoga Sutra)

“Yoga is the settling of the mind into silence. When the mind has settled, we are established in our essential nature, which is unbounded Consciousness. Our essential nature is usually overshadowed by the activity of the mind.”

“Yoga is to still the pattern of consciousness; then pure awareness can abide in its very nature. Otherwise, awareness takes itself as the pattern of consciousness.”

“Practice and nonreaction are required to still the patterning of consciousness. When the ultimate level of nonreaction has been reached, pure awareness can clearly see itself as independent from the fundamental qualities of consciousness.”

On a spring morning in 399 BC, the first democratic court in the history of mankind summoned the 70-year-old philosopher to the dock on two charges: disrespecting the city’s traditional gods and corrupting the young.

The accused was found guilty. His punishment: state-sponsored suicide, carried out through a measure of hemlock poison in his prison cell.

The man was Socrates, the philosopher from ancient Athens and arguably the true father of Western thought.

Whereas all religion in Athens was public, Socrates seemed to embrace a peculiar form of private piety, relying on his “inner voice”.

This “inner voice” would come to him during unusual episodes, when the philosopher stood still, staring for hours.

But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees. (Mathews 6:6)

“Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest awhile.” (Mark 6:31)

The importance of silence, solitude, and stillness in the life of Jesus and his disciples is undeniable. Jesus made a habit of withdrawing, sometimes abruptly, from the crowds and his ministry of doing his Father’s will to “the hills” or a “lonely place” or “the wilderness” or a “high mountain” or to the “seashore”. To be more like Jesus we must likewise find times of silence, solitude and stillness.(Credit: Sacred Structure)

“Many spiritual traditions encourage individuals to seek out moments of silence and solitude, drawing inspiration from Jesus’ time in the desert. These moments are seen as opportunities for self-reflection, prayer, and deeper inner connection”

Silence is the language of God.

Let Silence take you to the core of Life

Rumi – Legendary Sufi Poet

I wonder if you have ever noticed, our minds are very rarely very quiet, silent, having no problems, or having problems putting them aside for a while. And having a free mind, a mind that is not cluttered, a mind that is not stretching out, not seeking anything; but absolutely quiet, silent, and perhaps observing,

I am talking of a stillness which is not dependent on anything. And it is only that quality of stillness, that absolute silence of the mind that can see that which is eternal, timeless, nameless. This is meditation. Krishnamurti

Your innermost sense of self, of who you are, is inseparable from stillness.  It is the I am that is deeper than name and form.

Wisdom comes with the ability to be still. Just look and just listen. No more is needed. Being still, looking, and listening activates  the non-conceptual intelligence within you.
Let stillness direct your words and actions.

Stillness, listening the silence…
It is the sense of beingness that was always there. It is timeless.
It will not be found outside your self!
Can you go through life being in touch with that? Eckhart Tolle
